The world is in
an urgent need of accurate and objective information
especially from one of, most probably, the hottest spots on earth:
the Palestinian Territories. Here, the elements of “change” and
“time” seem to be manufactured, produced, and distributed every
changing minute for people to catch up with. A missed piece of
information becomes history within seconds.
The Bethlehem
Media Net (“BMN”) responds to such demand by offering the human
angle of the infamous Palestinian-Israeli conflict, by portraying
a people who believes in and thrives for peace and fights and
resists in another form hoping for better times.
As part of its
contribution to the world of media, both at the local and
international levels, the BMN also offers professional technical
assistance to freelance journalists as well as to media agencies
and personnel who are yearning to better reporting the world from
an angle not only different from that of an often-told story, but
also from where the actual events break. Please see our “Media
Services” section for further information.
Established in
the fall of 2003, the BMN is administered and operated by the
Bethlehem Media Center (www.annadwa.org),
the goal of which is to echo the “voice of the voiceless”,
especially that of children, the youth and women. By
providing training in journalistic skills and developing the
opportunities for people to say their opinion, Bethlehem Media
Center can offer a more exact and democratic voice to the outer
world.
