Bethlehem International Student Film Festival (BISFF)

 

The Bethlehem International Student Film Festival (BISFF) is now accepting entries for its first annual festival to be held in the period between November 29th and December 2nd 2007.

BISFF will showcase the diverse and creative work of film students of any nationality that explore issues related to this year’s theme: “Land, Peoples and Identities”.

The BISFF Selection Committee accepts Short films, videos and digital media (under 30 minutes in length) in the following categories:

- Documentary
- Narrative
- Experimental
- Animation
 

All foreign language entries must be subtitled in English. Entries should be produced between 2005 and 2007.

Final date for submitting films is October 1st.
Filmmakers will be notified of selections via email by October 20th, 2007.
Film selections will be publicly announced on the BISFF website by October 30th, 2007.

Formats accepted for Submission (for selection committee only):DVD/VHS

Formats accepted for Exhibition (for presentation at the festival):  
Film: 35mm
Video: Beta SP
Digital: DV/DVCPRO/Mini DV/ Digital Beta

Entries submitted for screening must include the following:  
1.  Completed entry form
2.  Copy of each entry in DVD/VHS format (PAL or NTSC).
3.  One or more still photos from your film and photo of filmmaker (300 dpi if submitted electronically)
 

Entries must be postmarked by the submission deadline date. The entry form may be submitted by mail or fax prior to media and other materials being shipped or e-mailed.

DVDs, Tapes, films or other entry material should be sent through one of the following couriers: Aramex, UPS, Fedex, DHL.

Submitted DVD and VHS films will not be returned to owners. Films will be kept in the Festival film library for the sole purpose of research, documentation, and education.

Costs of sending films to the Festival will be covered by the participant.

Awards:
The festival’s Jury will select three films for first, second, and third place, and the filmmakers will be awarded cash prizes to support them in their next production.
3rd place: $500
2nd place: $1000
1st place: $1500
